The Bird Sanctury

The Feathered Nest is actively involved in rescuing and rehabilitating injured birds that are brought in from the surrounding areas, where man has in some way caused the damage. This is not always the case though, as we get birds that have wing or beak defaults and therefore cannot feed or care for themselves.

We need the following for our Bird Sanctury:

  • Wire mesh for the aviaries
  • Tubing (round or square) for the aviaries
  • Locks for the doors
  • Feed
  • Cement
  • Funds
  • Water lines
  • Plumbing supplies
  • Sheet metal
  • Corrugated metal (roofs)
  • Electrial wiring
  • Electrical plugs
  • Veteriniary services

In instances like these, we gather these birds and care for them. It is certainly our intention to increase our averies to accommodate more of these injured birds, and we need to have the staff to look after them too. We are driven by the passion to help these marvelous creatures.

View our sponsorship page where we ask for any donations, be these in the form of money, assistance or materials - all are much needed to enable us to care properly for these birds.

One main area of funding is the corporate sector, either large or small business. Being involved in the rehabilitation of birds is the concern of everyone, it just doesn't come to the attention of the general public to what extent these birds are injured.

If you want to make a donation, please do so generously.
